Behind the scenes — how we build Rixos, one update at a time.
After hundreds of hours of playtesting feedback, we decided the original combat felt stiff and unsatisfying. We tore it apart and rebuilt the entire hit detection, combo chaining, and enemy response system — here's what changed and why it was worth it.
Every tile in the Crystal Ruins was painted by hand in Aseprite. We wanted each room to feel like a piece of art — here's our process, from sketch to final pixel.
The forest dungeon needed a soundscape that felt alive and slightly unsettling. We layered 12 separate audio tracks — wind, dripping water, distant echoes — to get it right.
Lyra started as a simple tutorial NPC. Over time she grew into the emotional core of the game. This post covers how her character arc was written and how beta testers reacted to her.
What seems simple — saving your progress — turned into one of our biggest challenges. Corrupted files, edge cases, and slot conflicts: here's the full story and what we learned.
